Abstract

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a disorder where a person has repetitive and unwanted thoughts, ideas or sensations (obsessions) that make them compelled to do something repeatedly (compulsions). Repetitive behaviors, such as washing hands and checking doors can significantly interfere with a person's daily activities and social interactions. Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a mental health problem that often affects teenagers, causing significant anxiety and interfering with daily life, although it can considered untreatable, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy has emerged as the first psychotherapeutic intervention for OCD, and demonstrated remarkable success in reducing its symptoms in adolescents. The aim of this study was to assess the effectiveness of ERP therapy in reducing OCD symptoms in adolescents by addressing their urges through exposure, teens can learn to manage OCD symptoms and improve their quality of life. This research conducted a meta-analysis of previous studies on this topic.
